Whale hunting supported by Antiguan government

Just wondering if anyone else is concerned that the Antiguan government supports Japanese whale hunting? Essentially Japan hunts hundreds of whales in our waters every year... including endangered species... and the Antiguan Government is 100% supportive of this massacre.

Tourists to the Caribbean come here for many different reasons, but many flock here to view these beautiful creatures which generates revenue for the area... are we not concerned that they are being slaughtered?

As many of you know we had a meeting last night under the banner "regular people for change". Many were invited and it was featured on the Observer Radio News and in their paper yesterday. No officials were invited to speak in an official capacity but the meeting was open for all to come and take part. (no officials came with the exception of a very interesting female police officer who is part of a new youth program). There were loads of notes taken and we will do a proper report and ...

Unbelievable!................The fallout from this one will hurt us bad!

Eli Fuller at 11:23am January 23

Well the fallout from the financial situation in the usa and uk is hurting us bad right now. We are still hurting from the cocos murders.... this is a kick in the guts when we are down on the ground already. The UPP didn't step things up after the cocos murders like Baldwin said they would do. I haven't seen any stop and searches at all. They ...

Some time last year,i think it was late October,my friend Mouse took matters into his own hands and cut the main road that leads to Fitches Creek from Piggots.A five foot trench was cut across the road to allow the water to run freely. The rush of the flood waters further eroded the gap to a width of about 35 feet and a depth of about 25 feet.So here we are now in mid January 09 and nothing has been done.....but "TYRE MASTER" (we know him) has had a piece of heavy equipment there now ...

I have been living, working and traveling to Wadadli for 21 years. I was married to an Antigua. My child holds an Antigua passport. I have strong island ties. I am on island 2-5 times a year. I own a US based travel agency that has brought thousands to ANU for the past 21 years. I support local vendors when marketing products on Bonaire. It's a labour of love.

Due to the climate economically (globally) and the recent horrific crime in the Summer of 08 I have seen a sharp decline in inquiries ...

This was posted on FACEBOOK and there seemed to be quite a few posts following it. Facebook isn't the place for propper discussion because of the format. Let's try here again:

When the UPP launched their political "Blue Wave" campaign last week they spent a whole bunch of time saying how good they were and how bad the ALP were. They called them names, and the one I liked the best was when Wilmoth Daniel called one of the ALP guys an IDIOT. He kept on saying it in his coarse and ...

OK OK enough already! I have had it with trying to avoid horse spiders in the dark and with being rendered brainless by the noise of generators... From what I hear, this is all, and only, political - and completely unnecessary. Hadeed's power is cheaper than the power that the Chinese plant will supply. He has even offered to sell his plant to the Government, if they like that option better, for less than a new plant will cost... So, why is Baldwin so determined to make us suffer like this, and ...

As the person starting this forum, I can tell you that i have felt that there are many issues we face here in Antigua and Barbuda that are not given enough discussion and have felt for some time that there needed to be an online forum where people could speak about issues. The news today about Gary Nelson being fired was just motivation i needed to start this forum. Why the heck was this man fired? The Antigua Sun article makes it sound like Gary felt that he and his force (and the country) would ...
